perkara pagi

Oh, okay - frankly, I throw away my lovely skripsi, I forget about my presentation and conference things on this Friday. With big pleasure, all of sudden, I become an absent-minded Belle as well as a hang-over girl does; like a bottle of beer when I was in Bangkok. Yeah!
Trashy. Jadi pas tadi cek tumpukan DVD di kamar, ketemulah film Chasing of Liberty ini. Okay, oldies banget, tapi sejak film A Walk To Remember, gw suka sama si Mandy Moore.
Filmnya menghibur sekali.

Ben Calder: So if you’re scared, why do it? Anna Foster: Because the things you’re scared of are usually the most worthwhile.
…
Ben Calder: We are just two people, travelling together in the same direction.

Aktor laki-lakinya, Matthew Goode yang berperan jadi Ben Calder punya aksen British yang sexy banget (that’s why I love British-man), selain badan sama tatapan matanya juga sexy, sih.
For God’s sake, eventually watch it! ~ and watch Armageddon too, it’s absolutely a must!

Ica : nggak dosa.

Dina : yaelah ini anak lebay banget dah.

Gw : masuk aja yuk..

Dina : udah telat ini, percuma juga. Lu malah biasanya telat sejam, duduk, terus tidur di kelas doang, bentar-bentar nanyain kapan kelasnya beres. udah sama aja, mending nggak usah masuk.

Gw : terus sekarang mau kemana kalo nggak kuliah?

Ica : makan es krim sama pancake yukkkkkk.

Dina : ayukkkkkk

Gw : (being dragged)

Grazie, Ben.

This is a question that I sent to Ben Laksana. Okay, fool me, I came out as an anonymous.

see, I will graduate soon, but my partner will graduate later, so it means we will be a part, maybe I will busily do my new job and he will stay to finish his study - in fact, now, we always meet. Ben, I know you have received this same question all the day, but still - I wanna ask you this same-silly-question. LDR, right? how do you keep your relationship, your trusty, your feeling at the same person, Rara? - convinced me that LDR may be worked. Grazie, Ben.

and here is his respond to my silly question:

A silly question? As my lecturers here have constantly said, “There’s no such thing as a silly question!”

Look at your relationship now. Are you both open to each other? Or are you secretly jealous or envious or angry or upset at each other? How do you feel now? Not yesterday, not tomorrow, but now, how do you feel? Do you trust your partner? Are you open to your partner?

Are you having trust issues at this moment? Not your partner, but you. Do you have trust issues with your partner? If you don’t, you wouldn’t be asking these questions would you?

Can an LDR work? yes it can, what do you need?

Openness.

Because openness gives birth to trust. Do you have it now?

Is your relationship based more on understanding or acceptance?

Have you asked yourself why are you afraid of doing an LDR? What is the basis of your fear? Why are you afraid? There is a reason that you are afraid right? Are you not open? Is your partner not open? Did you have a bad experience in the past with your partner regarding trust issues?

How do you feel for your partner right now?

My relationship is my relationship, my experience, my understanding. You can’t compare it with your relationship because we have experienced things differently and thus understood things differently. Including on how we define a relationship.

Look at your relationship now. Don’t think about tomorrow, think about now, look at it now, observe it now and have a clear understanding of it now. Because what you have now will result in what you have tomorrow and anywhere you go.

metta.

Grazie, Ben.

GEMASI (Gelanggang Mahasiswa Sasta Inggris Universitas Padjadjaran) proudly presents Crossing Conference on Culture, Language, and Literature: Travels, Transformations, and Transgressions in and out of Codes and Canons.
We think that crossings are what made our postmodern, globalized world. The humanities and the arts (fine or otherwise) now need to recognize the urgency of such crossings and realize that their Saturnalian poetic license is outdated, driving them out of their ivory towers. They must, then, move and maneuver in new fields, new spaces, new media, new languages. And, they must speak of and promote discussions on these crossings.
You can see the details on http://english.fib.unpad.ac.id/crossing/
You can also see the list of accepted papers which will be presented by the author in this conference (and surprisingly, you will find my name on the list) on http://english.fib.unpad.ac.id/crossing/schedule/parallel-session/
the whole schedule’s on http://english.fib.unpad.ac.id/crossing/schedule/

want to see how silly I am presenting my paper in this awesome conference? just come to Iwa Koesoemasoemantri campus of Universitas Padjadjaran at Jalan Dipati Ukur No. 35, Bandung on 24-26 May 2012.
